Print is Not Dead!

I know what you’re thinking. We live in an age where technology is running rampant. An age where a single thought, comment or idea can be shared with billions of people across the whole world with just the push of a button. To promote your business you can send an email, Facebook Ad, Tweet, video or picture instantly to millions of potential viewers. With conveniences such as these, why on Earth would anyone want to ride the pony express?

There are so many reasons why print campaigns are still very beneficial to a business’ marketing plan. For starters, when you offer your contact information to a potential customer you will hand them a business card or maybe a flyer. You would not simply tell them to go to your web address for your phone number, email address, physical address, fax number, etc. You place a piece of reference material in their hands so that they can revisit that information at a later date when needed. Internet banner advertisements are good at catching attention, but once a visitor clicks on a new page that advertisement is out of sight and out of mind. A printed representation of your products/services has a better chance of being kept and seen again. Marketers know this and that’s why 100 billion pieces of direct mail were sent in 2012 †.

They have something tangible as opposed to a possibly fictitious internet front that the customer cannot actually walk into and have a look around.

QR codes are a great tool because recipients of your print materials can then easily move right to all your digital campaigns….with just a click of a button! A QR, or Quick Response Code, is a type of two-dimensional bar code that is printed and can be read by using the camera of a mobile phone. Once read, the code can link the consumer to particular information or a business’ website.
