Here at PIP we have all sorts of interesting jobs that come through our door from life-sized cut outs of boat captains to booklets for the Houston Astros Spring Training Camp. But recently we had one that really fascinated us. A wonderful woman presented us with the task of creating a small book. Now, we have printed and bound various types of books from operations manuals for government machinery to workbooks for local schools to story books for published authors.
– And honestly, printing manuals for government military equipment was pretty exciting, especially for the men in the shop.
However, it was this small 30 page booklet job that really ignited our enthusiasm.
So this young lady brings us a handful of photographs and a small stack of emails. She explains that these items are from a family member from their time in Vietnam and she wants to arrange them into a book.
WOW! What an honor to play a part in the story telling of a real American hero.
We of course want to respect the privacy of those involved so pictures will be of low resolution. For the same reason, we will be brief on the personal information.
But this was just too fabulous of a job not to share!
What a great idea to chronicle this soldier’s experience and collect these wonderful memories into a book for him and other family members to commemorate his service. The family presented him with the book for his birthday and as a bonus gift they provided copies for all of his children and grandchildren so they could share in his adventure.
